(Update May 16, 2012) I viewed/tried out the job aids (on this forum) for uploading pictures to the WAG, but got stuck at the point when I needed to import the (new) folder to the "My Network Places" on my computer. As such, I wasn't able to upload the (saved) pictures folder to the "My Network Places" folder and am still not able to upload your fine WAG to the parish website I'm working on. I have Windows Live Messenger (instant messaging) if it's any easier to interface with someone who might be able to assist me. I would greatly appreciate any/all help. Many thanks in advance.

hello, text editor araneae community...

In my view a great program for editing files, as I like, lite and simple but functional totalamente... Cool!!

I use FileZilla FTP program. My album folder does not appear to load into "FTP Shortcut" file. (Mark McIntyre please help.) I'm working on a website for my parish (volunteering my time) and your "Web Album Generator" program would be a HUGE help in organizing the pictures in the various albums on the website. Thanks in advance and looking forward to your/any assistance.

Donations are still accepted for my two other products, Web Album Generator and Araneae. Website and support costs required something a little more "regular" than the odd donation here and there, so Citrus is a trial application with a paid license for anyone who likes it enough to keep using it. It's pretty much the only reason that this site is still up and running, so thank you for your registration! <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

It's actually not necessary to open the license file (although if you really want to know what's inside the file, you can open it inside Windows Notepad if you'd like; it's actually just a plain text document with a ".license" extension).

To unlock Citrus, simply save the license file to your Desktop, right-click on the Citrus Alarm Clock icon and select "register". You'll be prompted for the file; once you select it, Citrus will unlock itself using the information inside the file automatically. You can then safely delete the license file from your desktop.

Let me know if you have any other questions; I'll be happy to help!

I have one of your older Citrus Alarm versions, not sure which, but the point is I am still able to use the file with no issues, and the program only slightly complains. It has logged that "You've used Citrus for 1117 days!" (It's woken you up an ungodly number of times!!) blah blah... It will be fun to see it hit 1337 days, just for the laugh. I mean, it's a trial version with no license file.

So, the support question: Why did the old donation-to-buy system fall through, and why are you still asking for donations when you now have a perfectly salable product? (Ok, fine, it's a question out of simple curiosity. For the record, I just legitimately bought the newest version. No, I'm not going to get rid of the old one, it has to hit 1337 days first.)

Interesting; I don't think anyone has reported this problem before. My best guess is that one of the settings files became corrupted.

Try deleting Citrus' settings folders and see if it fixes the problem. There are two folders that store the Citrus settings; one is for general program options managed by Windows, and the other is where the individual alarm settings and license file (if you've registered) live.

The first folder is called "Orangeline_Interactive" and is located in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\. (You may need to configure windows to display "hidden" folders in order to see the AppData folder. Be careful to back up the data first, just in case, and be careful not to delete anything else by accident!)

The second folder is called "Orangeline Interactive" (without the underscore) and is located in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\

Once the two folders have been deleted, try running Citrus again. It should (hopefully) start without problems.

I hope this helps! Let me know how things go. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Yes, this is possible---although it's a function of your web server and not Web Album Generator itself. Setting it up depends on the server software and settings, but it's usually not very difficult or involved. Often, you can just request setting up a password-protected folder with your web hosts' technical support.

Citrus doesn't use very much memory at all, but it's a little hard to measure. As a .Net application, it shares memory with the runtime environment which is part of Windows, so memory usage will be reported as the entire .Net working set. I've talked about it here before, so if you're interested in the inner details, feel free to check it out. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Do you know how much memory Citrus consumes?
I like the alarm clock a lot. I bought a license. I'd like it not to eat too much of the free RAM since that it limited on 32 bit systems. So please keep that in mind for future versions.

It's still playing even after closing the alarm window?

Before I go into other potential causes, are you sure you're running the absolute latest version? There's an option to check for updates if you right-click on the Citrus icon in the task tray (beside the system clock). If it says you can upgrade, please do.

Thanks for the report, vgtrac. Sometimes certain camera models don't quite adhere to the jpeg format exactly, which appears to result in some bizarre colour shifting problems when loaded into Web Album Generator. I'm aware of the problem and have already fixed it in the latest development version, which will be released as soon as more featres are complete. In the meantime, you can solve this issue by re-saving your photographs using an image editor that doesn't exhibit the colour problem. That is, if you load the image in Photoshop, Paint.net, or some other image editor, and the colors appear normal, then re-saving the image will correct the problems in the jpeg file. Loading it back into Web Album Generator will no longer result in the strange colouring. Hope this helps!

Hi!

I liked your Web Album Generator, but when I use FastStone photoresizer to just resize some photos and after put in Web Album Generator, the images in the program turns to blue.

The same images, already resized, when I open outside Web Album Generator, in windows 7, they open normal, without changing color. When I pull the images to your program, they turn to blue, and even after creating album they stay blue at web.

What can it be? What can I do to solve the problem?

Thanks!

Say Will,

We created 4 albums for the same website, uploaded their folder to our host provider via FTP, and incorporated them into the website by a link in an iframe. Therefore your link will be the URL of where the folder is located. Hope this helps.

Say Mark, I had a thought - is it possible for you're niffy little generator to place watermarks on photo's?

I have a genealogical web site and I need to create a number of albums to cover all the dead folks in my tree
by surname. Can this be done?
How do I create links to my main page for each album?
As I build a number of web sites, I use an FTP program to up load, considering how you advise uplolading is this a problem?

Thanks...............Will

Yes, if you donate and receive an alternate license then you are free to remove the link from any album you create. With the license, I'll also provide a simple tool to automatically remove the links from your albums.
