It's an interesting idea, although it would only be meaningful for albums that are specifically to be embedded inside an iframe. In the meantime, mind you, this can be done via the stylesheet template.

Adding Transparent Background colour to page colour.
For the next release could you please add 'transparent' to the Page Color dropdown box. This would make your albums better suited for iframes placed on pages with background images.

I think there are some software packages available that can add frames to images directly, but your best bet is probably to use CSS to design a nicer looking style for yourself. Click on "File" then "Edit stylesheet template" to add new classes and styles.

It takes a lot of skill, admittedly, but it's something I'd like to help make easier in upcoming versions. If you'd like to be notified of new versions via email, please feel free to sign up for the Web Album Generator Announcement List.

I am looking for graphic design features such as changing the background color displayed behind photos, picture frames, - creating more of a powerpoint presentation where text can come in. Any options to make the album more attractive. Flowers are beautiful to look at but I would like a more finished album presentation. Please let me know what options I can use in the creation or add before I include the photos into the album generator. Thank you.

Could you please give us the option to specify none as a background color of a page?

Reason: I sometimes place a galley page in a iframe. Being able to have a transparent background allows the gallery to match the rest of the page.

I followed the instructions for changing the album background color to an image file, but I would now alsolike to change the background of the table that holds the thumbcells to just solid white. What line(s) of code would I have to change/insert into the main.css file?

TIA

I like the idea of using a background image. I tried inserting the code as given in the example above.... I viewed my album, and yes I had the background now, but my text colors for my album had changed to the default colors instead of my custom colors.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Yes, something like this should do the trick:

body {
 background-image: url(http://www.example.com/myimage.jpg);
 background-attachment: fixed;
}

You can also choose to have the image tiled horizontally or vertically, among other properties. There's a pretty good summary of them available at W3Schools. Hope this helps. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" />

If you would like to specify an existing image to use as your background, you can add the following line to the bottom your stylesheet template (first click on "File" then "Edit Stylesheet Template"):

body { background-image: url(http://www.example.com/myimage.jpg); }

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help. Im currently setting up my online portfolio for my photography work, and i love this program, however, i want the backgrounds to match the rest of the site - is there a way a fixed background can be done without including the background image in the album? by taking the image information from a page in my site? or a picture on my site?

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers :o)

The code looks fine, so perhaps it's not working because the image file isn't being loaded. Remember to copy the
coccomposite.gif
file into each album's folder. You'll need to do this each time you generate the album.

I hope to make background images easier to specify in a future version of WAG.

Morning again,
I got it to work on a trial album. When I got the full album done and generated it didn't work
Here is the script that is on the css

/* Main Selectors */
body { background-image: url(coccomposite.gif);
background-repeat: repeat;
}

I am just not sure what I am doing wrong...it has to be a little thing.
