OK - I've read past posts but I just am not able to figure out how to get my album on my website. What should be the name of the file that I use to create the link to take me to the album off my homepage? The 'album' contains a lot of files and I have tried referencing the index and the .alb file but neither works. My ftp site contains my homepage and the album photo. Ugh...this is frustrating!

I have a web site already and want to put a link on a page to the web album generated. Do I need to move my web album to the FTP site? Where to put it, under the folder htdocs? and How do I refer to it in a link?

Thanks.

I have created the slideshow, great that was easy and good result. Now for the frustrations in trying to access the album on my webpage, I have tried using the suggested method, but the web address to my web page wont get accepted in my network places.

I am also using frontpage 2000, is there any way I can put a link to the album on my index page so that it links to the album and opens it up?

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. thank you

FTP Upload Instructions
(How to put your album on the web)

If you're using Windows XP, putting your album on the web can be done without installing extra software, such as "FTP" programs. You can follow the steps below, or view an animated tutorial which shows you what to do step-by-step. If you are not using Windows XP, there are some textual instructions for common FTP clients available in another support topic.

Click Here to View an Animated Tutorial

Setting up a shortcut to your FTP site:

Click on the Start Button and select "My Network Places."

Click "Add a Network Place" in the "Network Tasks" section of the sidebar.

Select "Choose another location" and press the "Next" button.

Type in the FTP address* of your site and click the "Next" button.

Uncheck the "Log on anonymously" checkbox and type in your FTP username*.

Type in a name for your FTP shortcut and click the "Next" button.

Click "Finish" to make your new shortcut appear.* If you don't know your FTP address or username, you will need to contact your web space provider. If web space was provided with your Internet service, you can generally call their support line for assistance.

Uploading your album to your site:

Double-click the shortcut in "My Network Places" that you have previously created.

Enter your password if one is required.

If there is a folder called "www" or "public_html," double-click that folder. If no such folders exist, then you can ignore this step.

Drag and drop your album folder onto the web folder you just opened in My Network Places. (Your album folder should be on the desktop, by default. If you need help with this step, try viewing the animated tutorial.)

That's it! Your album should now be available on the web for friends and family to enjoy!

Viewing your album on the web:

If you're unsure where to find your new album on the web, you should be able to view it online by typing in your homepage URL along with the name of your album folder. That is, if your album folder is called "Vacation" and your website is at http://www.example.com/username/, then your album should be at http://www.example.com/username/Vacation/.

If you require any assistance using Web Album Generator, feel free to post a message in these support forums. If you are having problems getting FTP to work, or if you forgot your FTP username and password, please contact your web space provider for assistance.
