Hello Anonymous,

Yes, you can use Web Album Generator for commercial websites. There's no fee, but if you're profiting from it, I do ask for donations to help support future development.

Thanks, Ted. This is absolutely one of the most popular request, and I agree completely. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Work on the next version has already started (there's still a ways to go, but it's already much faster with some great new features), and vertical navigation will definitely make the cut.

I love the product and have used it for years. But I've noticed that monitors have gotten wider and wider and to display big images many sites put the nav stuff off to the side. Right now the only option is to have the thumbs up top or below, but this really crowds my images so I leave them off but this makes navigation more difficult (just text isn't as effective).

Any chance you could have an option for the nav to be on the left side and run vertically? This might be a lot to ask, but it would REALLY make the results a lot more flexible.

Thanks again for a great product.

It's not currently supported within Web Album Generator, but some users have reported some success by manually alterting the stylesheet and/or pages generated by WAG. I'd very much like to make this easier in an upcoming version, though.

PS I think WAG is great.

I worked out that the extra pages were being generated by a FireFox Add-on, now switched it off.

Have done a bit of hunting on the web and managed to work out the "background color" thanks. Am now working on using an image to go with the rest of the site, http://www.colin-allison.co.uk/Spain, this is my first effort and I will have to tweek things until it works to my liking, but your program has given me a good start, and the control to tweek.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "loading in pages below the current page." Are you saying that photos are appearing on the wrong page?

As for the background bar, try adding the following to your stylesheet template:

.textnavigation {
   background-color: yellow;
}

That should give the text navigation a yellow background, for example, but you can change yellow to any of the standard web colours, or specify any colour you like in
#RRGGBB
format.  <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

I have noticed while reveiwing the Galleries off line, to check them after creating, that the images are loading in pages below the current page (after clicking on an image in the index page) I have loaded one on my webspace and it didn't hapen. Have you come accress this before? Can I stop it? I'm not that bothered unless it starts happening online!

Is it possible to give the <<Previous Index Next>> links a different coloured background bar? It would look neater and would make the navigation links more obvious.

This can already be done via the stylesheets, although admittedly you'll have to have some CSS knowledge to do it. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" /> If you do a search for "css image replacement techniques", I'm sure you'll come up with some options. I plan on adding additional flexibility for this sort of thing in upcoming releases, as well.

Using Images as navigation buttons.
It would be nice if we could specify images for the Index, Next, and previous buttons.
The easiest way to allow this is to allow people to modify the html code for the next and previous buttons.

Hi, Mark

I really like WAG - use it to post all my photos, and now I have a request for the next version.

Is there a way to put frames on the page so there is a persistent navigation capability? I've seen sites that have the left column reserved for navigation purposes.

This would also allow for music to be played while looking at the album.

I'm looking forward to see the next version - hope you can include this idea!

Near the top of each photo page, there'll be some code like this:

<span class="index">
    <a href="index.html" title="Return to Index">Index</a>

I'm incorporating the albums generated by WAG into my website, which is done by Site Spinner. What part of the HTML code generated by the WAG is responsible for the word (and link) "index" that is above the thumbnail navigation links above the large picture? I need to be able to delete that for it to work properly in my web site, and as you can guess, I'm not proficient in reading html.

Right click issue, this has been discussed on the forum several times. Since every photo has its own html page, there is no simple java script fix. This would have to be incorporated into WAG's base program.

The thing about "no right click" is it is hardly worth the effort. Anyone who is computer savvy, can copy photos from the File dropdown menu in explorer. This works around the no right click script.

The best bet is to display your photos in a small format, so they are to small to really do anything with. This discourages most people from snuffing them.

The vertical menu thing, there is a thread on the forum somewhere that Mark described a way to do that. But I have not been able to locate it, happy hunting. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />
