In my Case, I have a spreadsheet from a db with the info on it, and the photos /info can change reasonably regularly, so this sort of option would be good (in my opinion )

You know, I haven't really thought about that before.

Do you already have information in a spreadsheet that you're trying to import, or do you just prefer the way that spreadsheets let you enter the title and caption information?

Is It possible to have a near future option tohave the ability to import a text /spreadsheet/data file with photo title and caption information linked to photo name.....???
THis would save a lot of double handling if one has a lot of photos on display

For the record, you can already manually sort photos by selecting one or more photos from the list and clicking either the blue "up" and "down" arrows at the bottom of the list, or by using the "Move Photo Up" and "Move Photo Down" commands in the "Photos" menu.

My client asked me to put a youtube video on a gallery I made from this program. I had to do a quick code job but It gave me an idea for a future feature. The ability to put HTML code blocks as objects in a gallery.

Basically you would add a new item the Photograph Tasks menu. The option would be "Add Code Block (Advanced)"

The Code Block page would have the following fields:
Thumbnail (It would give you a list of default thumbnails like: Flash, Youtube, Movie, Sound. It would also give you the option to upload a custom thumbnail.)
Code (This is where you drop the code.)
Object Title
Object Description

When the program goes through creating the pages, when it comes to a HTML block it would instead drop the code block where the image would have normally gone.
This would add a whole new layer of usability for this program. It would expand past a Photo Gallery program into the realm of Media Gallery programs.

----------------------

Manual Sort
I would like to be able to move selected images up and down in the list by clicking options labeled 'Move Photos Up' and 'Move Photos Down'.

Could you please add an option for a max photo width and height. I often place the gallery in Iframes or scrolling divs and it would be helpful to be able reduce the max width/height to a specified amount so the panes will not come up with scroll bars. Having a max defined would help greatly.

Another form of template to consider is a HTML template that uses ID tags.
The code for the main galley would be placed within a div tag specified by the user such as the following.
<div ID="gallery">/*The Album or Photo Page*/</div>

The head information would append itself at the end of the code within the head tags.
The title information would overwrite the data within the title tage.

Could you please give us the option to specify none as a background color of a page?

Reason: I sometimes place a galley page in a iframe. Being able to have a transparent background allows the gallery to match the rest of the page.

My suggestion is this:
When Generating the Web Album after the color scheme page give a template page option. It would ask you if you want to use a template.

If you choose use dreamweaver template the following options would appear on the next page.
Template for Gallery > Browse...
Template for Photo Page > Browse... or same as Gallery.

Once you specify the templates, the next page would pop up.
Associate regions for Gallery elements. Associate regions for Photo Page elements.
The program should detect the regions in the DWT files and show a drop down box asking where to drop the following code segments.
Document Title
Document Head
Document Body

Basically I want to be able to have the photo and galley pages input code into regions I specify in a DWT file and then save it as HTML. It gets kind of annoying having to apply the template manually to 80 some pages one by one.
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->/*Page Title*/<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" -->/*Style*/<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="body" -->/*The Album or Photo Page*/<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->

I would actually prefer to have the gallery embedded to my webpage, and I did; I found the code on one of these threads and it looks fabulous. I just made some changes to my site, one of them was to reduce the size of the photos. Now the entire photo is visible, but it's 640x480, not big enough for a wallpaper.

My guess is that I would have to manually link each photo to Photobucket (which is a pain because I have over 50 wallpapers), or simply provide the link to Photobucket where people would be able to download them. None of these are ideal, but the second one would probably have to do. 1 meg is right, but that's enough for me, since my wallpapers are 1024x768, and almost never over 250 megs.

What I was hoping for was clicking on a thumbnail, which would open up a picture, then clicking on that picture would open up a full-sized version that people could download, then hit the back button on their browser to go back to the gallery. Still, even now, the album is beautifully integrated into my gallery page, and the colors match perfectly. I included a link to the WAG home page, but I was wondering do you know if I could use the WAG logo next to it, for promotional purposes? I really like the program, and I'd like more people to hear about it. This way it gets free publicity!

All the best,
Aida

ETA that if you ever need a picture-friendly storage site, try http://www.esnips.com. They offer 5Gb storage space, and you can use it as either a true storage site, which can be private, semi-private (both password protected, but you can give the password to some people for the second option) or public. If you have pictures, they will be shown as thumbnails on its pages, but I don't know whether you can organize them into albums. You can share the pictures, or link to them from another site.

I did it by making a seperate folder on my web-server, saving the full image in it, and manually inserting a hotlink to the image from the displayed photo.

Photobucket will only allow a 1 meg file size, not big enough for a wall-paper. I guess for pay accounts it might be different, but not so on my free space. Most of the wall-paper photos I have uploaded were around 5 meg bitmaps.

Hi Steve, I hope it's OK asking this question here. I was wondering about a similar thing. How exactly would I link to a full size image? I believe I could use Photobucket or Imageshack for it, I just need instructions. My gallery looks like this at the moment: http://www.dj-aida.com/gallery.html

As you can see, when you click on a small thumbnail, only a fraction of the full size picture is visible. I'm still learning, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Mark may add such a feature to WAG in the future. But! unless you have unlimited web space, and unlimited bandwidth, a feature like that would not be something many users could take advantage of.

I have occasionally linked one or two images to their full sized versions, so they could be down-loaded for wallpaper purposes, but only a select few. And I do have unlimited bandwidth, but only 60 megs of storage, so it would not be something I could use - except in a very limited amount.

I know I should resize my pictures for easier viewing, but I'd also like links to the originals. I'd like a future version of Web Album Generator (WAG) to be able to do the following:

Copy the originals unaltered to the album folder.

Generate direct links to the originals by linking each WAG-processed picture, appending a text link below it, or both.

For me, it would be the best of both worlds - screen-friendly pictures for casual viewing, and access to the real thing for those who want it! <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" /> I really don't want to link my hundreds of pictures by hand.
