The best way to "insert" your album into another page is to use an iframe. Other than that, all I can recommend is to just add a link to the album; stand-alone albums are mostly what WAG was designed for. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" />

Hi,

I was very excited, to run across your "WAG" and for a moment I thought, that my prayers were heard.
After all, it's a wonderfully application, that easy to use (I've already created a sample file in no time)! So here's my problem -I've build a little web site (using expression web without prior experience in websites), that display "goods", with a number of thumbnail images under each item. Clearly, it's not the best way to do tings. In short, I would like "WAG" to enable me to upload each new album, so that it shows up under it's corresponding item (text frame). Can you explain to me the steps I need to take, if at all possible to reach my objective? I apologize for being a little wordy in addressing my predicament..Thanks - Dan

This differs from web host to web host, so you'll likely need to speak with your web hosting provider to get the exact address of your album after it has been uploaded.

Uploading instructions differ from web host to web host. If you're having password issues, I'm afraid all I can recommend is to get in touch with your web host's technical support team. Chances are they'll be able to resolve it quickly. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

I am unable to upload, I tried using the ftp site and it tells me that I do not have access. If I try doing it the way you describe, but taking out the login annonamously, it just takes me to my folders. I am very confused.

I have no problem using caps for titles. I don't use the latest version of WAG though, but I see no reason why later versions should be any different in this respect. More than likely, is is the server your albums are on; some servers don't like caps.

I don't think it would be your FTP program. I use Blade FTP, its free and you may want to try that.

When I upload to my web site my FTP Pro changes the capital letters in the title to small case and therefore they do not show up. I always avoid using capitals on the web for this reason. I've had to go in and change all the titles to small letters and upload again. Why doesn't this program change the titles into a useable format? Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way around this other than putting all my titles in small case?

Other than this glitch I love the WAG.... it's just what I've been searching for. I use Dreamweaver to make my site and can open these pages in it to add a graphic title, or 'home' button that goes to my index start page. Here is a link to the page where my gallery pages start: http://www.mdweil.com/antartica-cruise-start-pg.html

It sounds like this might be an upload glitch (the file may have become corrupted during the FTP upload). If you can identify the filename of the thumbnail that isn't appearing correctly on your website, then re-uploading that single file might do the trick. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" />

Hi Mark

I have a number of albums on my Zetnet page on the web site. The one labeled 'Manchester' has one photo missing. When I open it on the desktop it opens OK with the missing photo showing. I have checked ftp and the photo is listed in the file. Any suggestions please?

Otherwise I am very happy with the way all my other WAG albums work - honest!

Hi Lynn,

Nice to hear from you; I didn't recognize you at first!

It looks like you've uploaded only one of the album files instead of the entire album, so you can safely ignore the "MIME type" suggestion above.

To fix the problem, you'll need to upload the generated album folder. (To create this folder, click on "File" then "Generate Web Album" and go through the step-by-step process).

I've made an animated tutorial to help explain the upload process a little better, if you're interested. It's available from the How to put your albums on the web support topic.

Good luck! And if you have any other questions, comments, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let me know.

It sounds like you're doing everything right. From what you described, this may be a server misconfiguration. (Specifically, if you like geek-talk, the server may be serving your HTML pages with the wrong MIME type). If that's the case, I'd recommend getting in touch your web host's technical support team.

If you still think you may be doing something wrong, do you have a website address where I can observe this behavior? I can quickly investigate to check for simple errors.

I am trying to put several albums of pictures onto a specific page within a website. I have uploaded them per your instructions. On the page, I put the title of each album, and then linked each title to their respective albums. However, when I get into my browser and I click on the title, I get only a page of code with no pictures. Am I linking correctly, or am I doing something else wrong?

It sounds like your FTP server may have been having temporary connection issues. Try re-uploading the album; there's a possibility that whatever was causing the interrupted upload may have been corrected now. If you're still having difficulties then I'm afraid all I can recommend is to get in touch with your FTP service provider.

Are you able to view the albums properly before uploading? (When you click on the "View Album" button after completing the generation process?)

Need help uploading my WAG albums to my site. Using the tutorial on WAG to FTP albums, I get as far as drag and dropping my album folders onto my FTP page then that's it. When I try to view them, all I see is a white page with white boxes where the photos should be showing the photo name.jpg extention. Even though my folders are on my desktop, where should they be in relation to my website? I can't search for my album on the web using the example http://www.example.com/username/album name/ because the albums are not connected to my site. Perhaps this is the problem? Any step-by-step advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

In windows Vista, you can click on the Start button and select "Computer." From there, type the name of your FTP server in the navigation bar at the top of the window. It should prompt you for a username and password. Once you've successfully connected to your FTP server, simply drag and drop your album folder to your FTP site.

I hope this helps. I'd like to update the upload instructions and add an animated demo for Windows Vista in the very near future. <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" />
