I would actually prefer to have the gallery embedded to my webpage, and I did; I found the code on one of these threads and it looks fabulous. I just made some changes to my site, one of them was to reduce the size of the photos. Now the entire photo is visible, but it's 640x480, not big enough for a wallpaper.

My guess is that I would have to manually link each photo to Photobucket (which is a pain because I have over 50 wallpapers), or simply provide the link to Photobucket where people would be able to download them. None of these are ideal, but the second one would probably have to do. 1 meg is right, but that's enough for me, since my wallpapers are 1024x768, and almost never over 250 megs.

What I was hoping for was clicking on a thumbnail, which would open up a picture, then clicking on that picture would open up a full-sized version that people could download, then hit the back button on their browser to go back to the gallery. Still, even now, the album is beautifully integrated into my gallery page, and the colors match perfectly. I included a link to the WAG home page, but I was wondering do you know if I could use the WAG logo next to it, for promotional purposes? I really like the program, and I'd like more people to hear about it. This way it gets free publicity!

All the best,
Aida

ETA that if you ever need a picture-friendly storage site, try http://www.esnips.com. They offer 5Gb storage space, and you can use it as either a true storage site, which can be private, semi-private (both password protected, but you can give the password to some people for the second option) or public. If you have pictures, they will be shown as thumbnails on its pages, but I don't know whether you can organize them into albums. You can share the pictures, or link to them from another site.

I did it by making a seperate folder on my web-server, saving the full image in it, and manually inserting a hotlink to the image from the displayed photo.

Photobucket will only allow a 1 meg file size, not big enough for a wall-paper. I guess for pay accounts it might be different, but not so on my free space. Most of the wall-paper photos I have uploaded were around 5 meg bitmaps.

Hi Steve, I hope it's OK asking this question here. I was wondering about a similar thing. How exactly would I link to a full size image? I believe I could use Photobucket or Imageshack for it, I just need instructions. My gallery looks like this at the moment: http://www.dj-aida.com/gallery.html

As you can see, when you click on a small thumbnail, only a fraction of the full size picture is visible. I'm still learning, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Mark may add such a feature to WAG in the future. But! unless you have unlimited web space, and unlimited bandwidth, a feature like that would not be something many users could take advantage of.

I have occasionally linked one or two images to their full sized versions, so they could be down-loaded for wallpaper purposes, but only a select few. And I do have unlimited bandwidth, but only 60 megs of storage, so it would not be something I could use - except in a very limited amount.

I know I should resize my pictures for easier viewing, but I'd also like links to the originals. I'd like a future version of Web Album Generator (WAG) to be able to do the following:

Copy the originals unaltered to the album folder.

Generate direct links to the originals by linking each WAG-processed picture, appending a text link below it, or both.

For me, it would be the best of both worlds - screen-friendly pictures for casual viewing, and access to the real thing for those who want it! <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" /> I really don't want to link my hundreds of pictures by hand. XD

Thanks for an overall great program! <img src="http://support.ornj.net/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":D" class="bb_smilies" /> (Sorry if the above doesn't quite make sense. :P)
