G'day, me again...

I use Expression Web 4.0 to design and manage my sites. I'm in the process of migrating all my sites (commercial and personal) as it works well for me.

My sites also use what's called "Dynamic Web Templates". That basically creates all the html source, head and body preamble and postambles, and puts an "editable region" in the generated file, which I subsequently edit. This is a one-time-per-file process - once the hand-edited code is safely within the "editable region", EW automagically only updates the code AROUND that area, leaving all my edits alone. This is great for me.

However... WAG currently generates an entire file, including all the head and body tags and associated magic.

What I'd like is an option where I can specify that just the body code is generated. Then I can manually move that into my EW source file (which is the same name as the WAG generated file) in the "editable region". Hey presto! I have the excellent results of WAG, encapsulated within the look and feel of the rest of my site.

(What I'd really like is to be able to generate the code right into the editable region in nominated files, but that's an awful lot of extra work for YOU, and it's a matter of 5-10 minutes for me with an excellent text editor like Textpad!)

Maybe having a "bare" or "naked" (snigger) option would be helpful to those of us who need to work within security and design frameworks.

It's fine to keep generating the CSS file, however it would be helpful if all the ids and classes were prefixed with "album-" or "WAG-" (which is what I do manually now). This lets me include the CSS selectors in my main CSS file without disturbing my current heading, table, background, and div classes and so on. That's just another minor suggestion...

Thanks for listening. I hope this might be useful for more folks like me who'd like to be able to integrate WAG into our sites a bit more nicely.

Keep up the great work!
-PCPete

I'm fairly new to creating websites and have managed to create http://www.magixautoworx.com, I didn't think it would be this complicated to create a photo gallery on my site. I used Microsoft Publisher 07 to make the site and it is hosted by godaddy and all files are uploaded via FTP Filezilla.

I downloaded Web Album Generator and it's easy enough to create the album and generate the needed files, but what I don't understand is how I get the gallery to show up in my "photo and video gallery" tab. I know I need to upload via FTP all of the files that WAG created, but I assume I have to open Publisher and go to the "photo/video gallery tab" then create an object and link it, or hyperlink with something.....what am I missing?

My goal is to have the gallery almost exactly like WAG's example, but with my background and the ability to see my tabs on the side:

In a previous version of Araneae i was able to open lets say 30 files, and search for a phrase across all open files. I upgraded to 5.0.0 and I can't seem to find that option any longer. Can someone tell me where to find it? It that is no longer an option, could you tell me where I could download that older version I was using before.

I love this software, I use it all the time. Thanks Mark!

First, let me begin by saying what a great product this is. Thank you for making it available!

I have several albums posted on my website. Once a person has started to view an album, it there a way to have the person "click" on a link that brings them back to either home or a page within a website (instead of either clcking "back, back, back, etc." or going into Favorites and going to the site again?

I would prefer to link back to a specific page on my site, but I would settle for having them go back to my home page.

When you generate an album it creates an HTML file that references in the code [div id="index"].

If you generate two galleries and combine them onto one page you will have a reference to this id twice.

When you validate (W3C) the file for XHTML strict it will give an error.

"An "id" is a unique identifier. Each time this attribute is used in a document it must have a different value. If you are using this attribute as a hook for style sheets it may be more appropriate to use classes (which group elements) than id (which are used to identify exactly one element)."

It's minor, but how can one combine two galleries on one page?

My first thought was to duplicate and rename all the index tables and nav in the css and rename them ..1, ..2, ..3 for 1,2,or 3 galleries on a page. But this seems a bit cumbersome. So can we alter div id's to class in the default .css?

I'm trying Citrus Alarm for the first time as I read it may be a suitable alarm app that can awake from Hibernate or Sleep modes in Windows 7. So far no such luck. I've tried enabling Wake in the Control Panel as another post on this site suggests, as well as running a number of tests. It works fine when the PC's on but that's not the most energy efficient option. I've found other alarms that are able to do this and am able to achieve the same result myself by tinkering ( a lot) with Windows' Task Manager function. I like the Citrus alarm GUI though so it would be nice if it could function through the Sleep and Hibernate modes. By the way, I'm running CA on a Win7 64-bit machine, selecting a standard .m3u playlist file as the executable. Any help on how to properly configure this would be appreciated.

Hey, are you (Mark) the original developer of TrayAnimations? I know you must be. I used to love that program so much. Today I thought of it for the first time in a while and downloaded it. By the way, it works great in XP 64-bit!

First I just want to say thanks for creating such a unique and cool application.
Second, do you (Mark) or anyone else here have any additional animations for it? I cannot find the "Tray Animations Editor" anywhere, nor any downloads for extra animations. I remember I used to have a ton of them.

Also, I think you should really put a quick link on your site to download TrayAnimations. Even though it's old, there must be others like me who still remember it. Just a thought.

I hope all is well.

Thanks.

Hi, I've been using Citrus for a while now on Windows 7 and got the 2.3 update when it came out. A while back, Citrus stopped playing any type of music file, the same ones it used to play flawlessly. Now, any time it tries to load any music file of any type, it simply uses the emergency "chime" and a bubble pops up from my task bar reading "object reference not set to an instance of an object". I've never had this issue before, but I should clarify that I used v2.3 for a while before it showed up. This error even occurs if I try to play the media file using an external player. I'd love to use Citrus again! Please help me solve this issue. Thanks.
