Alarm not waking from either Sleep or Hibernate modes in Windows 7 (4 posts)

I'm trying Citrus Alarm for the first time as I read it may be a suitable alarm app that can awake from Hibernate or Sleep modes in Windows 7. So far no such luck. I've tried enabling Wake in the Control Panel as another post on this site suggests, as well as running a number of tests. It works fine when the PC's on but that's not the most energy efficient option. I've found other alarms that are able to do this and am able to achieve the same result myself by tinkering ( a lot) with Windows' Task Manager function. I like the Citrus alarm GUI though so it would be nice if it could function through the Sleep and Hibernate modes. By the way, I'm running CA on a Win7 64-bit machine, selecting a standard .m3u playlist file as the executable. Any help on how to properly configure this would be appreciated.

So long as wake timers are enabled in the configuration options, I haven't received any reports of this behaviour specific to Windows 7 (and I use the 64-bit edition of Windows 7 myself), so this is likely a configuration issue.

In case you haven't tried them already, there are some troubleshooting steps in the Frequently Asked Questions that may be able to help.

Also, note that Citrus wakes up your computer one minute before alarm activation time, so if you're setting up a test alarm, make sure to set it for about three or four minutes in the future to leave your computer enough time to go to sleep and still leave that minute-long buffer for the test.

Let me know if this works.

If you are running Windows 7, your computer manufacturer may not have configured Windows to wake up from sleep mode automatically by default. In the Windows control panel, select "Power Options" and select "Change plan settings." Select "Change advanced power settings" and click "Change settings that are currently unavailable." Set the option "Allow wake timers" to "Enable" and click OK. Citrus should then be able to wake your system from its sleep state.

    Hope this helps!
