Am using Win XP and just generated my first album with Web Album and loaded the folder onto my new ftp site using the method suggested i.e. via My Network Places.
I have a brand new empty site and cannot visualise the photo album on my website - I get an error 403. The web hosting service did mention putting up an index.html file but unsure whether this has anything to do with the album or not. If it has how would I make such a file?

Web Album Generator automatically creates an index.html file, but you may need to include the album's folder name when you type in the album's web address. For example, if your album was generated in a folder called "vacation" and you uploaded it to your site, the final address might be something like http://www.example.com/vacation/ instead of just http://www.example.com/. If that still doesn't work, you can always explicitly type the index.html file as well, like so: http://www.example.com/vacation/index.html

    I hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply Mark. It seems that I have deleted the directory in my ftp file that has to store my albums in order that they appear on the web. So I have been told by the Webmaster that my account is unusable and I have to delete the account, and then reapply for a new one and then start again.
Guess I'm not too old to learn new stuff but it's frustrating - should have learned how to do webpages when I was younger. Still I'm not giving up yet!

Dealing with the ins and outs of web hosting is always a bit of an adventure, but I'm happy to hear you're not giving up!

If you have any other questions about working with your album, please let me know and I'll be happy to help.

OK, I've set up again my new website and ftp account. The files have to be uploaded to the subdirectory /htdocs. Can you help with which album files (folder) has to be uploaded and how to load it to the correct sub folder using Filezilla and/or your suggested alternative using My Network Places?

The entire folder that Web Album Generator created when you generated your album will need to be uploaded. This folder will contain several .html and .jpg files, as well as a css file, but they should all be kept organized in a folder. So, if your album folder is called "vacation" then you should upload the entire folder into your htdocs subdirectory so your album ultimately resides at /htdocs/vacation

    I hope this helps!

Really helpful Mark, thanks very much. Have uploaded the entire album to the subdirectory but could not get it to display. Turns out there is a (default) index.html file in the subdirectory that displays automatically. So once I deleted this file and added the xxxx/htdocs to the URL, everything works fine.
