citrus alarm "configuration system failed" error message (5 posts)

This error happens to newer Windows programs when their
configuration files become corrupted. I don't really understand how
your Citrus file in particular may have become corrupted, but deleting
the corrupted file should solve the issue. The configuration file is located in the Application Data folder for
your current user. You'll need to turn on the ability to see "hidden"
files in Windows to see it. (This can be done in the Windows control
panel.) Please take care when deleting files and make a backup, just in case.In Windows Vista, the file location is:
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Orangeline_Interactive\Citrus_Alarm_Clock.exe[random characters]\user.configIn Windows XP, the configuration file location is:
C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Local Settings\Application Data \Orangeline_Interactive\Citrus_Alarm_Clock.exe[random characters]\2.0.2992.25646\user.configThe file will be re-created when you run Citrus again. This means that
some Citrus settings will reset to their defaults, unfortunately, but
everything should otherwise work.Hope this helps!

I have this same issue, only it's on the trial version, "C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Local Settings\Application Data \Orangeline_Interactive\Citrus_Alarm_Clock.exe" does not exist in my XP, only had an alarm.xml is in that folder. =(
Any ideas? I would probably upgrade this to the full version, but I'd like it to work first, lol.

The path is the same for both the trial version and the full version. Note that
[username]in the path will be the name of your username, and that the folder will likely be hidden, so you'll need to change your Windows options so you can view hidden folders. (There are instructions on how to do that here, if you're interested.)Hope this helps!

Problem found, lol, I had always had "show hidden files and folders" applied, because I hate things that hide from me and I know what I shouldn't be touching anyway. Thanks for the help, I just took a wrong turn at Local Settings....went strait into the Application Data folder found in "C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]" then went into the Orangeline Interactive folder in there...finding nothing. Instead of going Local Settings/Application Data/ etc. So many folders that look alike, and all hidden, lol. =)
