Okay, I know computer-illiterate people like me shouldn't even use the internet! Still I hope I can find some help! X-D I noticed several different posts that had questions similar to mine but I figured I'd just list all mine at once! I installed Web Album Generator onto my computer. I have created an album on my computer. (Really Cool!) I clicked to "generate the album" and did the album title and colour scheme. I also did the index and navigation stuff. To what directory is it suggested that I generate the album too? (I tried the desktop and it wouldn't let me. I don't know what I'm doing! I just want to post some pictures! :'( Also what files/folders are you supposed to upload?
    - photos folder
    - thumbnails floder
(I noticed that you mentioned these folders to someone else. Not all of the pictures in my album are in these folders!)
    - advanced.css
    - advancedstylesheet.template
    - index.html
(Can I change this to album.html?)
    - License.txt
    - main.css
    - readme.txt
    - schemes.ini
    - settings.ini
    - stylesheet.template
    - tips.ini
    - unins000.dat
    - unins000.exe
    - webalbum.chm
    - webalbum.exe

    Any help would be appreciated!

    P.S. My website is a paid site through Yahoo!Geocities. http://www.Stephens2000.com (LuvPreKTeachin@msn.com)

Most of the files you've listed are the Web Album Generator program files, and do not need to be uploaded. Generating albums into empty directories may help you better distinguish what files need to be uploaded (I've also provided a list of the files below).

If you can't save to the desktop, try the "My Documents" folder. I suggest creating an empty folder inside "My Documents" and generating the album there.

Once your album is generated, you will only need to upload the following:
    photos (folder)
    thumbnails (folder)
    main.css
    advanced.css
    index.html
    index2.html (if it exists)
    index3.html (if it exists)
    etc.

Renaming the "index.html" file to "album.html" will cause problems. However, you can avoid name conflicts with the other files on your web site if you put all the album files into a subdirectory. That is, something like www. Stephens2000.com/photos/ (or some other appropriate subdirectory name).

I'm trying my best to make the next version of Web Album Generator easier to use (possibly including a feature to upload your files for you). If you have any suggestions or complaints about the current version, I'd be happy to listen.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

If you haven't already added ftp, I wouldn't rush to do it. My reasoning is that
a program should do fewer things, better (not more things, less well). Unless you suddenly get loads of time, those are the alternatives.

most sites are more than just an album, so the users will already need/have an ftp client, for the rest of the pages

I'd just recommend a nice free client, like filezilla, or even smart ftp.

Ordinarily, I'd wholeheartedly agree that FTP functionality should be separate. However, uploading is giving most casual computer users a lot of trouble and built-in FTP support would really simplify the process.

I'm still probably leaning toward not including such a feature; but only marginally. I'll try and gauge the demand for this feature appropriately.
