I initially wanted the program to wake up the computer and I have mulitple alarms during the day...but now, if I'm traveling, I take my computer and when I take it out of the bag, I notice that citrus has woken it up and now the battery is drained...

There doesn't seem to be an option to disable this. I even tried to uninstall the program. Do I need to change something in the registry?

    Thanks!

    Hi Scott,

The wake up feature happens automatically to keep things simple, but Citrus won't wake up the computer if there are no alarms scheduled or if the program has been shut down, so the easiest solution for now may be to close Citrus while you're travelling, or disable all your alarms temporarily.

You may also want to configure your system to go back to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity so your battery doesn't get drained for very long if an unwanted alarm does activate.

If your computer is still being woken up even after shutting down Citrus or disabling its alarms, a different program is likely waking up your system, such as a Windows scheduled system update or virus scanning software. (Note, for example, it is not possible for Citrus to wake up your computer more than once after it has been uninstalled entirely, since scheduled system wake-up times are for very specific moments, and cannot be repeated automatically without something like Citrus running to re-schedule it after every time. Citrus also clears the scheduled wake-up time when it's quit, so waking up even once while it's not running is unlikely, unless the program was force-quit or if the computer lost power.)

    Mark,

Thank you for the excellent response.

My problem is that I have multiple alarms that I need to go off every day. So remembering to disable them or even shut down the program is probaby something I'll forget when I'm running out to an appointment.

When I originally installed the program, it actually asked me whether I'd like Citrus to wake the computer up. I checked yes and just would like to reinstall the program without that option.

However, when I did uninstall and reinstall the program, not only did it not ask me that question, but somehow it retained my alarm settings from the previous install.

So how do I completely remove it from my system? Do I need to uninstall it from the registry or something like that?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hmm... The installation program asks if you'd like to start Citrus automatically when you log in to Windows, but that's about it. Perhaps you mistook this question for an option to wake up the computer from sleep?

One thing you can try is disabling wake-up timers in Windows altogether. That way, no program (including Citrus) will be able to wake up your laptop from its sleep state. In the Windows control panel, select "Power Options" and select "Change plan settings." Select "Change advanced power settings" and click "Change settings that are currently unavailable." Set the option "Allow wake timers" to "Disable" and click OK.

Citrus doesn't use the Windows registry, but it does keep some basic settings files in your Application Settings folder (which is the preferred way of storing settings nowadays). Specifically, they're in the Orangline Interactive folder, in a subfolder called Citrus Alarm Clock.

I have the same problem--I don't need my computers to "wake up" from hibernation when it's time for an alarm. (I always hibernate instead of shutting down, because it's much faster to restart compared to a cold boot). My laptop ends up with a dead battery, or if it's plugged in, just wastes electricity being on for hours and hours when I'm not home.

I'm running Windows XP, which doesn't allow disabling of wake-up timers. It's quite a hassle to shut down the program whenever I hibernate and then start it up when I wake up the computer to use it again.

I'd like to request the addition of an option to enable/disable wake-up in the program. It can't be that hard to add, no?

    Thanks,
