I read somewhere in this forum, that somebody have questions about how many folders you should have on the website for several albums..
    My answer is: ONE

    First:
I am uploading a new album directly to my local website-folder in a subfolder called "PhotoAlbum". From here I just upload the folder to the server via CuteFTP.
Next album ALSO go in the subfolder "PhotoAlbum". You DON'T need another folder!
I have made a "mainpage", where visitors can choose an album: http://www.spanienifokus.com/spaininphoto.htm
The albums have the respective link to that subfolders album, e.g. /PhotoAlbum/Avila/index.html

It's very easy and the most enkel way to do it. In one folder you can have ALL albums.

I hope, that it will help somebody!

No you can't load all albums to one folder, unless you make each one a subfolder inside the main folder. Each albums index page is Index HTML, and the browser would not know how to seperate this.

I have 7 albums each one with its own folder, linked as landscapes/index.html. Or as flowers/index.html, and so on. This also makes it a lot easier to edit each one rather than being all in one folder, with 7 sub-folders. It also keeps your link a lot shorter.
The more sub-folders, and folders, the browser has to scan through, the slower your pages will load.
Its much better to make seperate folders, and name them differently. Then open the folder that WAG makes, and direct transfer the Index page, and photo folders to the ones on your web-site.
I make two directories on my C: drive, one with all the separate albums in it, called "web-site albums", and another called "web-site photos" with copies of the album photos. This kind of organization makes changing things much easier, and keeps everything running smoothly. That way my album photos are not scattered all over my drive, and it also speeds up regeneration of the albums.

    Sorry Steven

    I don't understand you...?

In my PhotoAlbum folder i put the albums that WAG make:

    PhotoAlbum/Avila/index.html
    PhotoAlbum/Aranjuez/index.html etc.

This is like yours landscape, flowers etc. - I just say one folder: PhotoAlbum.
In this way I know, that all my albums is there, instead of looking around in a lot of folders.

The way for the server to find it must be the same?! Why make more folders than it's need. It's working fine without problems!
