In a previous version you had the ability to mute the sound before wake up, and it would unmute it when the alarm was about to go off... how come that is no longer an option?

Since the new version of Citrus wakes the computer from sleep mode, the option to mute the system volume feature became somewhat moot. (When the computer is in its low-power sleep mode, no sounds are made.)

I may re-introduce the old option if there's enough demand, but I think putting the computer in sleep mode is the most common (and economical!) option.

I have been using the old version of Citrus for a few months now, and I just thought I'd take a look to see if there's an update. As much as I like the new features, especially the integrated player, the mute option is a deal-breaker for me. I don't want my computer in sleep mode, since I want it to keep on receiving e-mails and MSN messages when I sleep. Let alone the fact that it can't properly exit a sleep state.
    Please put that option back.

P.S. Are you interested in a Greek translation?

While I don't always respond to every suggestion, I always take note! It's on the wishlist for a future update.

Actually, fiddling a bit more with ver.2, I discovered a potential problem. If the master volume or wave out volume is/are very low, or even muted, the alarm won't be heared. I think it'd be a good idea to put an option if CAC should leave the audio levels as they are, or change them to something pre-fixed whilst it's active, and reset them to their previous state when it's deactivated. Moreover, there could be another option, for the initial (when alarm goes on) and/or final volume levels (after fade-in period), so that, even if the volume levels have been forgotten to some weird level (like muted, too low or too high), you'd be properly awakened by the alarm at the usual volume levels.
I really hope you give my ideas some thought...
    Cheers!

A few people requested this during the beta, and I agree completely. It'll likely appear in an upcoming release.

Any idea when that upcoming release will be... up and coming?

    Nope. Just hold tight.

If you'd like to be notified of new versions via email though, there's the Citrus Alarm Clock Announcement List.

I have a computer I would like to put this alarm clock on. This computer stays on all the time. I use it as a file and print server. I keep the volume muted as not to disturb me in the middle of the night.

Can future versions unmute the sound then sound the alarm, then mute when the alarm is dismissed? Either that or bring back the mute before alarm option.

I have to bump this, since there's other people interested in the 'mute' function, as well as a lack of any new version for quite some time.
Please, read the suggestions above, and do try to utilise at least some of them.
I, for one, am waiting for that to buy a registered copy... no, seriously, I mean it.
