I haven't used Araneae yet (just found it via jish.nu), but it really seems great, and I plan on using it from now on.
One of my biggest problems is spelling. The problem with most text editors is that they don't know what is text and what is code. It would be great if there was some sort of spell checker. It doesn't even have to be within the program, you could just send the text to spellcheck.net or something similar.
I also like the ideas (read on this forum) of w3c validation, multiple templates, and more quicktags (like definition lists, ordered/unordered lists, acronym, etc)
Btw, it is great that you are able to read everyone's posts. I will certainly be recommending Araneae to others.

A spell checker that skips code sounds like a useful feature. I don't think it will make it in time for Araneae 5, but I'll definitely look into it further.
