Still having problems with photo not showing (9 posts)

Hi,
I asked for some help once before but nothing I have done has worked with this one! I have one photo in one of my web albums which will only show the link title in the table - no photo.

I have checked the album on my machine when it works perfectly.
I have tried deleting the photo from the site and uploading it again.
I have deleted the whole album and re uploaded it.
The URL is -

It is on the Manchester album and is the last photo.
any other ideas PLEASE!

I would suggest, the server just does not like the Looong file name. Shorten it, and see if this helps.

I also would not break the name_ like this.

Thanks, I will try making the file name shorter, but that is the title so it is what WAG puts in. I will have to learn more about how to change things. Btw there is no _ in the name at my end. I usually leave WAG to do things the way it is set up to do so and try not to break anything!

I have another similar problem - in my 'Latest Cakes' index [personal page] the last three pictures do not show in the thumbnail bar at the top once you click on the first picture. They show if you click on any of the last three, then if you scroll back they disappear again. What have I done wrong here please? I added the pics, then generated the new album and uploaded the index, the main.css and all the pic files related to them. I know I am stupid but didn't think I had done anything wrong, surely I don't have to upload all the other pics again as well do I?
Please advise.

There is a difference in the WAG version I run, and the one you are probably running. I like the older V.1.6, and there are some differences in the way they regenerate albums. With mine, you have to upload the complete album when you do a regeneration, photos and all. But it seems in some of the later versions you don't. Mark will have to answer you on this. But it will not hurt to reload the complete album anyway, and that should cure your problem.

I recommend re-uploading the entire album. This may change in a future version, but for now it's the least hassle to ensure all the navigation elements and photos are updated properly.

Thanks for the advice. I re-uploaded the cakes album and that seems to be working now.
However even though I have re-named the photo [and WAG files with same name] from the original query and re-uploaded the whole lot via ftp I am still not getting any change. The web is still showing the original file name although my PC and my site have the new name. If I open the album on the PC it shows the old title, but of course that is the description of the photo and this has not affected other photos in other albums when I have reduced the file name. Is it me?? Please help

This sounds more like a server problem. I had a site on a server once, when I would change an already existing file the server would not. Just so happened! the place had a on-line web builder. I went into it, and found the files were being copied, but not over written. I deleted the old copy, and the new one showed up. That sounds like what you are getting.

Hi Steve, Thanks for that info. I am not sure if this site has a on-line web builder but I can ask the Webweaver to see if he can give it a kick in the right direction. Particularly as I am also having a problem with the background on one of my other pages [not a WAG one] which I can't get to update. Needs more techno than I posess!
