I have worked to get my album working on my site for two days now and I am pulling my hair out cause it won't work. I generate it and put it up using my FTP I upload everything on the desk top plus the photos generated. But it keeps saying it can not find photos on this server. I have to label the index as index2.html as index.html is used to load my home page.
    Cheers Tony

Make sure that the folders are copied too. The photos have to be in the 'photos' folder and the thumbnails have to be in the 'thumbnails' folder.

Not all FTP clients copy folders automatically. I recommend using FTP Explorer (http://www.ftpx.com/), because it is much easier to use than most.

Let me know if this works.

    Hi Tony,

When Web Album Generator creates the file, it's named "index.html" by default. When you rename that file, the rest of the project looks for "index.html" and since it's not there, it can't run properly. What's happening is basically, the links from the photos are all broken because they're referencing a file that no longer exists since you've renamed it.

You have two options for how to deal with this on your server.

1 - You can create a subdirectory - call it 'album' and then upload all of your Web Album Generator files to this directory. This way, the "index.html" that the web album uses won't interfere with your top level "index.html" file, or,

2 - You could rename your top level "index.html" file to "default.html". This would then open the way for the web album's "index.html" file to work.

Most every server in the world allows three names to act as the starting page without the visitor having to type in the file name. Those are "index.html", "default.html" and for alot of servers out there "home.html".

If you need more clarification, email me and I'll try to explain this better for you. Best of luck!
