Thanks for writing.
Citrus Alarm Clock defaults to fade in each alarm very slowly to avoid startling people awake. The volume often starts off so low that it's barely audible, and is slowly increased over several minutes for a more relaxed awakening. You can adjust this behaviour through the Citrus Alarm Clock options screen if you prefer that the sound starts at a higher volume.
If the volume stays low, and doesn't fade in at all, check to ensure that no other programs that could be interfering with the system volume are running. Also see if adjusting the volume settings in the options screen has any effect.
Note that the volume equalization features that some sound cards have are known to interfere with Citrus' fade-in playback; if you have such a feature enabled on your sound card, try disabling it and see if it resolves the issue.

I'm having the same problem. System volume always stays at 100%. Citrus however stays at 1%. Volume equalization is not running. This does not happen every time, but usually. I'm trying to find out what exactly the difference between the times it does and doesn't work is.
Any ideas in the mean time?

Mark,
I think that I've figured it out. It doesn't work during the snooze. I don't think that it's properly checking the volume level when waking from snooze. Can you please look into this? I really love your alarm program, but this is almost a deal breaker. For anyone having the same problem,
For each alarm, make sure that "use external media player for alarm" is checked. You won't have snooze, the screen wont show, and volume fading won't work, but your alarm will still go off which is the most important thing IMHO.Thanks,
