I installed Citrus 2.2 using the 30 day free trial and added a couple of alarms. However, when an alarm goes off or when I test an alarm, an alarm window pops up and the alarm music starts playing, but the alarm window is blank with "Citrus Alarm Clock (not responding)" in the window title. I have to kill Citrus to stop the alarm.

My processor is 32 bit running Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2

p.s. I used to use Citrus quite a lot a few years ago; a most elegant application!

Thanks for the report! This is the first time anyone has reported this behaviour. Does it happen all the time, or just sometimes? You mentioned you had used a previous version; does that include 2.0 or 2.1? If so, did either of those versions have this problem?

Any extra information would definitely help me track this one down!

It happened every time that I tested an alarm or an alarm went off. However, before replying, I tried a reboot, and it seems fine now.

The previous version may have been back in the day of 1.0.something when I first got this laptop. It did have problems, but that's been a while. I'm glad that the new version works for me; I've missed my ship's bells (alarms).

Thanks for the report. Does rebooting solve the issue for you too, or does this happen consistently?

I have the same problem in Win 7 64-bit. I also tried Win XP compatibility mode but got the same freezing. Rebooting does not help.

Thanks for the extra information, everyone. Does the entire program stop responding, or just the active alarm window?

Here's a screen capture from Win 7 64-bit. The alarm does play, but the window appears to be frozen and has to be forced to close. Snooze does not work in this state. I did notice that the first alarm after a computer reboot does seem to run properly, but subsequent ones tend to freeze like this.

A beta version of Citrus is now available that I believe will fix the freezing problem. Please give it a try here, and let me know if this solved the issue for you.

Ditto here with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Not a regular occurrence but the symptoms are identical to what's been described. I'll try 2.3b2 and report back....

I had a the same problem with XP Pro. Your beta worked and fixed the problem but and stuck with another bug.
When the alarm goes off, the sound plays fine for about 15 seconds then an error message pops up in the tray with this message

"The media file for this alarm has taken too long to start playing"

It is accompanied by an incessant error alarm.

Just for clarification, anonymous, are you using beta 1 or beta 2?

Thanks, Anonymous. Could you please post a report to the beta discussion forum with information about the media file you are trying to play (which format, for example), and any other information you could provide on how to reproduce the error?

I had this issue crop up outta nowhere on 2.2 running on Win7 x64 after it ran fine for a couple months. Updated to the current beta and seems to be fixed.

    Odd.

All problems repaired with windows 7 x64 retail with the new beta, thanks so much, has been driving me insane with program response issues, and media playback being jittery and blaring over speakers. All fixed Thanks!
